Servings - 4
Ingredients:
- 1 cup Whole Masoor dal (Red Lentil)
- 1 Onion chopped
- 1 Tomato (pureed or chopped)
- 4 cloves Garlic chopped
- 1/2 tsp Ginger paste
- 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds
- 1/2 tsp Mustard seeds
- 2 chopped Green chillies
- 5 Curry leaves
- 1/2 tsp Garam masala
- 1/2 tsp Red Chilli powder
- Hing a pinch
- 2 tbsp Butter (Ghee)
- 1 tbsp Oil
- Salt to taste
- 1/2 tsp Lemon juice
- 1/2 tsp Kasoori methi
- Coriander finely chopped
- Soak the masoor dal for atleast 2 hrs.
- Pressure cook the dal with salt until 4 whistles.
- Heat butter(Ghee) and oil in a pan. Add cumin and mustard seeds.
- Once they sizzle add hing, ginger, garlic, green chillies, curry leaves.
- Saute for a min and add onions and Sauté till it turns golden brown.
- Add tomato puree. Mix well. Adjust salt
- Add Red chilli powder and garam masala. Cook till oil leaves the masala.
- Add boiled dal with lemon juice and kasoori methi
- Simmer on low heat for 10 mins
- Garnish with coriander leaves.
- Serve hot.
